NEW YORK, NY (December 21, 2016) – The New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE) will host an important and thought-provoking panel discussion on Thursday, January 26, entitled “How the New Administration Could Impact New York Associations and Nonprofits” for association and nonprofit leaders in the New York metro area. The panel, which will take place from 8:30 – 10:00 am at the Steelcase WorkLife Center (Penthouse) in New York City, will address critical issues facing nonprofit executives in 2017, such as the new administration’s financial, tax and trade policies impact on charitable giving, conferences, membership and fundraising.
Moderated by Kellen CEO and Chairman Peter Rush, panelists include: Vijay Dandapani, Chairman of the Board and President-Elect, Hotel Association of NYC, Board of Directors, American Hotel & Lodging Association and the International Hotel Motel & Restaurant Show; Greg David, Columnist, Crain’s New York Business; Benjamin Geyerhahn, JD, CEO/Founder, BeneStream, Health Benefit Exchange Regional Advisory Committee, Board of Directors, The Workers Lab; John H. The panel will address the various issues facing associations in the new administration and provide leaders with the information and knowledge necessary to assess the potential impact, such as
- Will the Trump administration’s financial policies set the stage for an increase in charitable giving?
- Could an association’s global membership or trade conference be affected by potential changes to export or trade policies?
- How might potential changes in the tax law impact membership or fundraising?
- Will foundations change funding priorities to protect policy priorities during a Trump presidency?
