WASHINGTON, DC (February 22, 2016) – The Association Management Company Institute (AMCI) has awarded its prestigious Glenn W. Bostrom Lifetime Achievement Award to Kellen President Richard E. “Rick” Cristol in recognition of his professional contributions and personal efforts on behalf of the association management industry. The Glenn W. Bostrom award is the association management company industry’s highest honor.
“We are very proud of Rick and his tremendous commitment,” said Kellen Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter Rush. “Rick has devoted a huge amount of hours with the full support of Kellen, as we believe this Institute is extremely important for the health of the industry and growing the profession.”
Cristol has been a leader in the AMC industry for over three decades, having served as CEO for ten associations as well as AMCI’s president in 2011. In addition to corporate duties at Kellen, he is responsible for all of Kellen North America’s association management business. Cristol engages in a variety of activities on behalf of client associations, including legislative and regulatory representation, management of industry research and promotion programs, and international liaison.
“I am deeply honored to be the recipient of this award,” said Cristol. “Glenn Bostrom was one of the true icons of this industry as was my mentor, Bob Kellen. What makes this recognition all the more special is all the great relationships I have enjoyed in AMCI as well as the wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure to work with in the association industry.”
Cristol was presented with the award at the AMCI annual meeting earlier in the month. He is a graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing and has also received an MBA from the University of Georgia. In addition to serving as a past President of AMCI, he is also a former member of their Board of Directors. Cristol is also a member of the American Society of Association Executives, where he serves on their Association Management Company Key Committee.
