The Copper Development Association (CDA) saw increased interest in its sustainable energy initiative following a comprehensive Kellen designed campaign to bring the issue to the attention of Washington, D.C. policy-makers and Beltway media.
The Copper Development Association (CDA) turned to Kellen for help launching a program focused on sustainable energy initiatives – a major emerging market for the industry and a hot topic in Washington, D.C.
The Kellen team developed a set of Congressional Briefs based on CDA market studies to provide analysis of sustainable energy issues most important to the copper industry, as well as advocacy messaging on the copper’s benefits for energy infrastructure and the economy. The briefs were packaged to provide topline information to busy congressional staff while offering a “deeper dive” via a re-launched CDA Sustainable Energy website. Kellen arranged meetings with key congressional staff engaged in legislative issues important to the CDA Sustainable Energy Program in order to outline the industry’s interest in the issue, as well. And to publicize the issue, Kellen coordinated coverage by placing advertorials in key Beltway publications, such as Politico and National Journal.
As a result, CDA saw more than two dozen meetings with congressional influencers and increased traffic to the CDA Sustainable Energy website. The organization also received attention from hundreds of attendees at major Washington events, an early indicator of success for the ongoing program.
