Kellen has remained a trusted provider of financial services to not-for-profit organizations for over 50 years. We are a charter-accredited association management company specializing in the unique needs of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) organizations.
Our experienced team provides the organizational stability, transparent financial reporting, regulatory compliance and the peace of mind for organizations to continue to thrive and grow.
Complicated and often changing tax codes and legislation, such as Sarbanes-Oxley, often subject non-profit organizations to increased scrutiny and require strict accounting standards. Kellen provides both the oversight and the expertise needed to help guarantee this accountability.
We offer services from raising revenue to studying membership costs, and can help ensure the financial stability for your association in the coming years. Kellen also relieves clients of employment-related liability by assuming 100% percent of the risk.
All client financial services are overseen by Kellen’s chief financial officer who has nearly three decades of accounting, finance and business development experience in corporate businesses and with not-for-profits. Each Kellen client is given a staff controller who facilitates financial transactions and prepares monthly financial statements in each client’s desired format. Financial statements and all expenses are reviewed and approved by the client’s account executive, also responsible for drafting annual budgets.
The tentative nature of association cash flow requires close attention to finances in order to maintain adequate liquidity of funds. Kellen recommends appropriate investment opportunities for each unique client portfolio. We often invest client funds in money market accounts, commercial paper, and certificates of deposit. Kellen also recommends that reserves should, at minimum, represent the cost of maintaining operation for three to six months.
