Does your organization hold a special event that loses money year after year? Your Board or committees may feel attached to it, your attendance numbers are passable and the content is of value, but you can’t seem to break even on the event. You’ve tried raising ticket prices and keeping expenses down, but the event just isn’t worth doing anymore. Rather than abandon the program altogether, see if you can shift it under another existing initiative or event. Consolidating two struggling events can help boost attendance and give your events new life. Having fewer events that are more successful will be more beneficial to your organization’s brand than having multiple second-rate events.
