On November 14, Kellen Company client, International Interior Design Association (IIDA) New York Chapter held its annual “Color Invasion.” This yearly event attracts over 1,000 members of the design community in New York City and attendees always rave about what a great party it is.
One of the best parts of this event is the theme, which changes every year. This year, the theme was “Step Right Up,” inspired by a vintage circus. Event organizers incorporated the circus theme into everything from the design of the event space (drapery created the illusion of a big top tent) to entertainment (jugglers, stilt-walkers, acrobats and bearded ladies wandered through the crowds all evening) to the food selection (there was cotton candy, popcorn and a french fry bar).
Check out some of the photos from the event, below. What are your favorite themes for events? How do you find ways to incorporate your theme into small details?
