When putting together an educational session, we often put out a “call for speakers” where industry professionals can submit their topics to the selection committee for their consideration. Recently, for Kellen Company client Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA), we put out a “call for innovators” instead. Changing the tone of the request for panelists helped us to widen our reach. We received submissions from individuals outside of HEDNA’s membership and brought them into the fold. It added a much more exciting twist to the program and many of the innovators who weren’t members before ended up joining the association after they spoke.
