John Adams Associates and Kellen Company Join Forces

Focus on preparing clients for major policy changes

Washington, DC (September 25, 2008) -- Veteran Washington public affairs firm John Adams Associates and Atlanta-based Kellen Company, a global professional services firm with operations in New York, Washington, Brussels, Beijing and Singapore, have joined forces to expand national and international issues management services to their more than 150 major clients.

Kellen chairman and CEO Peter Rush and JAA president John Adams noted that the next two years will see critical changes in federal and state policies affecting business, regardless of which party wins in November.  In addition, the increasing globalization of health, environment and energy standards poses significant new challenges for all industries.  Kellen manages some 100 trade and industry associations representing more than 10,000 companies in North America, Europe and Asia.

“The challenges for all companies and trade associations are increasingly global,” Rush said.  “We intend to provide a new model – a new gold standard for the highest quality, most coordinated and most effective services across boundaries, wherever the need arises.   We also intend to be extremely competitive, using our superb resources from Brussels to Beijing.  Our two companies bring together unrivaled expertise in areas of greatest concern to our clients, from regulatory and technical issues to economics, trade and geopolitical developments.”

JAA will act as the public affairs arm of the Kellen Company.   The firm has nearly four decades of experience in crisis communications and managing environmental, health, energy and trade issues on behalf of major corporations, coalitions and trade associations.   In addition to continuing to direct JAA, Adams becomes a senior executive of Kellen, based in Washington, where he was formerly a director of public affairs in the Executive Office of the President.  He is the author of two books on public policy.

The merger was facilitated by StevensGouldPincus.
